3/21-22/10 - Sunday/Monday Madness, NIT + CBI + NCAA Play

Going big with a 7 team parlay today. The risk is little, but the payout is large (large for me anyway).

3/20/10 - NIT + NCAA Saturday Play

Looking for some small value with a small play today. The biggest play at risk is the NCSU +5.5 UAB, but the Over 123 could be the one that puts this ticket in jeopardy. After seeing all the low scores in the NCAA tournament, I many have just taken a sucker bet. However, the game is being played on a college campus and not a big wide open arena, which may be the reason why shooting percentages are low. But, that is just my thoughts and reasoning. Here is my play, down and dirty.

NCAA Tourney - Day 2

Yesterday was not a good day, at least for me betting wise. Looking to bounce back today with a small modest wager. Nothing too fancy, but the way the tournament is going, I doubt that I'll be able to hit. But, the fun in having a wager going keeps my interest alive. Here it is, down and dirty.

Early Results for 3/18/10

Well, it happened to me yet again. As usual, the first game of the day is the one that does me in. This happens to me probably at a rate of 75%. So, this does not surprise me at all. Through my years of wagering, I am going to cut my losses today and re-up tomorrow. Not going to chase a win, because it will likely end in an unfavorable result. Not only did Notre Dame not cover the 3.5 point spread, but they lost. Serves them right to feel just as bad as I do. Well, they actually probably feel worse than me because they spent all season to get to this point, only to have their season end at the hands of Old Dominion. Now that's embarrassing.

Thursday March Maddness Play

With yesterday's win, I am going to take the "change" of $2.24 and play a 10 game parlay on today first NCAA Tourney action. I say change because I like betting $5 per play, but if I win the day before, I take the winnings and get my account back to a multiple of $5. I am only taking 2 spreads and the rest are moneyline bet. A moneyline bet is a straight-up win bet, for those not in the know. Here is my bet, down and dirty.

Winner on NIT - 3/17/10

So, apparently I placed a bet yesterday morning which I totally forgot about. I guess it was that morning head fog. When I checked my email at 1:00am last night, there was an email entitled "WIN". So I checked, and lo-and-behold I won a bet. All night I was watching the NIT and said, well at least I don't have anything running today. Boy, was I wrong. It is a win, and I'll take it.

3/16/10: NCAA-NIT-CIT-CBI Tournaments

NCAA - I like Winthrop in a straight up win over Arkansas-PB in the NCAA play-in game. Winthrop has tradition behind them in the tourney and this is Arkansas-PB first appearance ever.

NIT - I like UConn in a straight up win over Northeastern, maybe Northeastern can cover, but not going to take that chance.

CIT - The Catamounts of Western Carolina will cover an 11 point spread against Marshall. WCU had a great record and even managed to blow out Louisville on their home turf.

CBI - St. Louis in a straight up win against Indiana St. I think this pick could back-fire on me, but I'm will to take that chance.

First Posted Parlay - MLB Future Season Overs/Unders

I am going to try and come up with a chart that will show the season progress and tell you if I am on track, or if it will be a bust. If I can come up with one, I'll post it bi-weekly or as I see fit. Add a comment if you would like me to explain any of my selections.

NCAA Tournament - Winner

So a couple of weeks ago, I placed a bet to lock in odds on a team to win the NCAA Basketball Championship. The team is the Georgetown Hoyas and I locked in +20 odds on a $5 bet. I think there is good value there on a team that can turn it up at any point. At the end of the conference play, I thought that this had turned into a horrible pick, however after watching the Big East Tourney, I feel confident that the Hoyas might actually have a chance. My thoughts on the teams in the Tourney thus far

Syracuse: the best defensive team.
Kentucky: the best offensive team.
Kansas: the best all-around team.

Starting it off with an MLB Future

So, I know it may sound dumb, but I thought I would start my blog off with my favorite baseball team the Nationals. Will they win the World Series? Probably not, but that has not stopped me from placing a $5 bet for them to win it all. I locked in +200 odds, so with that said, if the Nats win it all, I walk away with a cool $1000 plus I get my $5 back too.
