4/9/10 - Simple Ways - Simple Plays

Went 2 and 2 yesterday for a loss. Both Tampa Bay and the White Sox had a chance to win, but couldn't quite get over the hump.

Today I went with some simple plays. The only play worth noting is the White Sox beating the Twins. I think the Twins are the better team, but the fact that they ended late in the evening on the west coast, and then has to travel 2 time zones to play an early evening game. I think the Twins just won't have enough gas for this one, while the White Sox get to stay home for back-to-back series.

4/8/10 - Hoping to get back

Yesterday I went 5-5. I didn't expect to hit it, but it would have been nice to collect a $500+ payout. Looking to get another win today with:

Dodgers - hope they can get there first win against the lousy Pirates.
Rays - Looking for them to continue to squeak by the O's.
White Sox - Masterson for the Indians has to prove he can win for I take him against the White Sox.
Blue Jays - Taking Ricky Romero and the Jays as an underdawg pick, hopefully this young pitcher can come thru on his first start this season.

4/7/10 - Playing with Fire

So usually after a win, I like to "splurge" and make a big play with the "change" that is left over. "Change" to me is any amount that gets my account back to a multiple of $5. I think that a $5 bet is small enough for me to risk, but big enough to make the win amount worth taking. I think the games that causes the most threats for a loss are:
White Sox and Peavy getting out performed by the Indians
Angels mainly because the Twins are a dangerous team this year
Giants, not a strong team and the Astros (or anyone) can pull a win against SF.

Here is today's play, down and dirty:

4/6/10 - Small Play

Not a lot of games today due to the day off after opening day scenario, but I did manage to find three games to play.
-Colorado is starting a new pitcher today due to an injury to their schedule, so I think the first game jitters are going to get to him and Randy Wolf and the Brewers will pull this one out. I really like Colorado in the long run, but not in this game.
-I also like what Tampa Bay is putting out, and not liking what the O's have to offer. Dominant pitching will take persistence in this one.
-San Diego and Arizona, two teams which I would normally bet against. I'm hesitant taking this game, and this is the game that could do me in for the day, but I like Chris Young a lot better than I like Edwin Jackson and the D-backs line-up. Edwin Jackson is also making his first start for the D-backs.

Opening Day was a Success

The only problem is that I did not get a chance to post my plays. I went to see the Nationals face off the Phillies in the first game of the season. Beautiful day, but my buddy and I missed Obama's first pitch as security to get into the stadium was tight and took awhile to actually get in. Here is my thoughts on yesterday's win.
-As much as I hated doing it, I took the Phillies -1.5 on the Runline. I thought that Roy Halladay was too much for the Nats to handle on the first start of the season, not to mention that the last spring training game of the season, the Nats had to face the Boston Red Sox and Tim Wakefield. How unfair is it that you go all spring preparing yourself against regular pitching, and right before the games really start to count, you have to face a 60mph knuckleball. Fair? I think not, but I did make money.
-With the rest of the 3 games it came down to who had the better pitcher. Seattle almost blew it for me in the late game, but Oakland brought in their closer (Andrew Bailey) in the 8th for a non-save situation. Huge mistake. He ended up costing them the game.
